  • Aaron · 1 year ago

i dont know why you aint added the kickstand trick but here goes. open up your memory card cover and press it up the way just to stretch the plastic a tiny bit now release it and turn it so its facing away from the phone ie turn the phone on its side the speakers facing up the way and turn the memory card cover facing towards the speakers now your phone will sit nicely on its side and viewing movies is great without holding the phone. be careful with the cover i broke my first one as it was really stiff.

    HI All!!
You all must be enjoying the advantage of 3.5 mm jack to listening to music with a good headset.

Now a better use for the jack if you are on the drive...

When you insert any 3.5 mm pin, phone states "using phone microphone".

Now the beautiful part.. If you guys drive and have heard of blue tooth speaker solution (very expensive) here is my Radio Solution (at tenth of cost) with longer battery life for phone.

If you do not have already, Buy any FM transmitter, connect and set one of the radio channels to that.

Connect the Audio wire from the 3.5 mm jack to the FM transmitter.

Keep your radio tuned to to FM transmitter frequency.

Now make a call, you can listen to the caller from your car audio system and drive hassle free.

Similarly you can listen to the songs from your phone on the go as well.

"Well this can not be used to N80 and other jacks with converters cause, then your sound is not transmitted through the mic of Phone"

    Drive safely...
  • Aaron · 1 year ago
Thanks jaison. I don't have a car though, i think this would be a trick i would love to try if i have one lol. Sure a good solution than bluetooth speakers for phone calls and listening to music, especially if sound quality is not that big of a deal for the user.
  • Jaison · 1 year ago
    HI Aaron,

To try this, you connect your phone to an Good Music System's Line in or Mic jack with the 3.5 pin.

Then raise the volume, and make a call.... Bingo you'll have a 5.5 Surround effect and all that Boom sound from the nice HiFi system and you can talk effortlessly.

Same goes for your music as well..and it is applicable to all the 2.5 jacks for N95, N95 8GB..and so on...

the easiest way to remember the life timer key combo is to remember the word #*war0anty# (warranty?)
  • Aaron · 1 year ago
hey nice, i was also thinking of a word equivalent for that, but "was0bouy" doesn't make sense haha. thanks for that rohit

Hi, thanks for the info. Is there a way to set the phone preferences so that it will automatically record all calls without having to go into the menu options like that every time?
  • Aaron · 1 year ago
    hi Lee,
sad to say but as far as i know, there's no setting for that. i suggest, you open up the recorder first before making a call, then just hold down the menu key to shift to it when the call has started. There are third party applications that offer automatic call recording. Check out this one:

BTW, I've been trying to find a program that will let me record calls to WMA 64kbit/s format. You wouldn't happen to know of such a program, would you? Other programs I came across besides Xelnex were Total Recall and Smart Recorder. Maybe you could try these (and/or whatever others you might know of) out, compare them, and do a blog entry about it? :)

after searching the net for a while a found a few patches that you can apply to the original standby screen if your using fw v30 then this will still work. basically you can remoce search, wifi, calender,to do

install rom patcher (supplied in package)
now copy folder named patches to e:/ (your memory card root folder)
go to settings and disable active standby
now run rom patcher and apply all 4 patches
you will be left with just the ovi icon i think it looks nicer hope you all like this and good luck

While starting up the phone and after entering the pincode, if you are tired of hearing the Nokia handshaking tune, press any key immediately after the "pin-code OK" confirmation has disappeared from the screen --> No tune :)

Here is an easy way to call a Contacts number where you then have to dial an extension or if like me you have a password for your voice mail box. Just insert a pause after the number, then the extension followed by a pound sign. Here is an example. If i have to call Paul and his number in your Contacts is +19043510854 and the extension to his office is 520, just change his number to +19043510854p520# and save it. The extension will be dialed automatically next time you call.

When editing a text, you can hold the "*" button to get the list of all the symbol instead of pressing "*" then scrolling down to "More symbols".

Am I doing something wrong? If I have 2 numbers associated to the same name (I. E. Ken) and I´ve called both numbers. If I press the "green button" to quickly access those numbers, there is no way to see which entry that goes to wich number. I. E if I want to call Ken, there are two entrys "Ken date and time" and a second "Ken date and time" but no way of knowing which entry that is connected to the home number (assuming there is a home and a cell number to Ken). This makes this feature useless since you always have to guess what entry to use (usually guessing wrong in 95% of the cases). On my old nokia the number was displayed instead of date and time.
  • Aaron · 5 months ago
You are doing nothing wrong. I have the same concern.
    Nokia DID something wrong.
