5800 seems to have a weird blue tone in its shots

Yes, especially the 5800 has a slight blue tinit on the photo of that painting that I just bought for $5 at a yard sale. What a steal!

Well, the blue tint seems to be common on Nokia 3.2 MP cameras. My old N73 had the same problem, but it was solved by adjusting the white balance setting. And even if it's not set properly on the handset, software like Picasa or Lightroom can fix the blue tint without damage to the photo quality.

Thanks for posting the comparison! As far as outdoor shots go, I'd say the 5800 performs pretty good, even compared to the N82. If the blue tint can indeed be corrected, it seems like a good deal.

But seeing the N97 already on Amazon makes me go "hm, what if I wait a little bit longer?"

Thanks. The N82 is better. That blue tint is very noticable in the larger images.

No doubt N82 is a winner all the way.I am a big fan.
Deviating from the topic,
i would like to use the forum to draw the attention of Nokia via N82 Blog.
On 24 th of May,2009 at 12.47am midnight IST(INDIA TIME) I was slide showing of shot photos to my family members,suddenly there was a loud beep,the handset started getting heated,the display screen turned red and started smelling foul and finally switched off. I took out the battery for 5 min.When I again switched on the N82, the display screen was cracked by two ways from the bottom side.
As a result The display has stopped functioning.
I am very upset.My family members are scared because in the near past Nokia BL Battery exploaded in India. I have written to the Nokia India Office.
What has caused the display cracking?
Shouldn't Nokia Authority find the reason?

I urge Nokia Authority that My N82 display must be declared safe after the display is replaced.

of course n82 outstand 5800 clearly, but 5800 is still a good performer..

for myself, i am proud to own a black n82.. :D

n82 all the way...best gps, camera, all around mobile phone....unless something similar comes out, I am sticking for a while with it...:D

hello guys. i'm such a huge fan (in camera) of nokia n82 but unfortunately my two units of n82 got stolen. I have a new one now but my phone is nokia 5800. I think nokia n82 was not for me because of the incidents. I compare the two (n82 and nokia 5800) in terms of quality image. Nokia n82 is the winner here (as always). The image quality of nokia 5800 sucks especilly in a low light. I am so disappointed on my nokia 5800 when it comes to image quality. But in overall nokia 5800 is way much better for me than nokia n82. No offense to other but it is just my opinion.

well, at all pictures you can see thah n82 goes to yellow and 5800 to blue. It depends on everyone what like more. anyway you can do it more real in PC from both mobiles. thats piece of cake.

on first is better 5800, because of sharpnes
second we cant compare, because one mobile used flash and second not
three there was only one flashed too i think
macro did better 82
five, there i have prob with light. i doesnt seem, that there was identic light
six 5800 sharper and colors are better for me too

I agree with Gio, the N82 is a great handset and i do love mine and the camera is great but thats all that sets the N82 and the 5800 apart, the 5800 wins on everything else.
